Answers to common questions.
Where should I start?
You can’t “do it wrong.” If you're unsure what to book first, just book the first session in the Core or Parenting Paths. If after you'r first session, you decide you'd like to book the Full Coaching Bundle of 4 Core and 3 Parenting Sessions, we will apply the price of your first session toward the price of the bundle.
What exactly happens in a coaching session?
Each 50-minute session is focused, practical, and ends with next steps. You’ll get notes, a short checklist, and any relevant templates/guides so you can take action immediately.
What’s the difference between Core Path and Parenting Plan work?
Core Path is your divorce fundamentals: options, finances, strategy, and your negotiation matrix. It applies to anyone getting divorced. Parenting Plan is for parents and focuses on parenting plan education, priorities, and drafting clear bullet points you can bring to your lawyer or mediation.
Will you attend my mediation or review my settlement agreement?
No. We don’t attend mediation and we don’t review settlement language. We do prep you with your Negotiation Matrix and will review your Mediation Tracker between sessions to help you stay aligned to your goals.
How long are sessions and how many will I need?
Sessions are 50 minutes. Many clients choose the 4-session Core Path bundle, the 3-session Parenting Plan bundle, or both. You can add sessions within these paths as needed. We also offer additional stand-alone sessions such as Protective Order Triage.
Do you recommend one long mediation or multiple shorter ones?
We recommend scheduling several shorter blocks (e.g., four 4-hour windows across ~2 weeks) so you have time to gather info and adjust your strategy between sessions.
Who will I work with? Can I choose my coach?
You’ll be paired based on your intake so you get the best fit for your goals and timelines. Coach assignments aren’t selectable at checkout.
Is this legal advice? Will you replace my lawyer?
No and no. We’re coaches—education, strategy, organization, and communication. Your lawyer is your legal advisor. We help you show up prepared and clear.
What should I prepare before my first session?
Bring any existing orders, your top priorities, and basic financial info (income, major expenses, debts, home value/mortgage). If you have nothing yet, come as you are—we’ll triage and build your plan.
How do payments, cancellations, and rescheduling work?
Payment is due at booking. You can reschedule with advance notice (see checkout terms). You can pay with after pay options at checkout if you need additional payment flexibility.
Is this confidential?
Yes. Everything we discuss stays between us.
Can sessions be completed virtually?
Yes, we primarily meet with clients virtually, which allows us to work with clients in all 50 states.
Can you tell me more about the coaches?
Yes, we'd love to! Click the about link in the banner.
Where can I provide feedback?

What if my situation doesn't fit the standard framework?

Divorce is expensive. Why do I need a divorce coach?
Because the wrong moves cost more than coaching ever will. Lawyers bill by the hour — and every minute you spend confused, unprepared, or going in circles adds to your bill. A divorce coach helps you walk into those meetings clear and organized. You’ll know your options, your priorities, and your questions before the meter even starts running. Clients often save hundreds or thousands by using their attorney’s time more efficiently — making coaching a smart investment, not an extra cost.
